I love Twitter. I access it on my phone many many times per day. It’s great for keeping up not only on breaking sports news but news in general. Unfortunately sometimes when I don’t get to check it on a regular basis I get bits of things and I feel like I am walking in on a conversation mid-stream. That’s how I was introduced to this whole situation with the Iowa football players.
The Cliff’s notes version of the story is a dozen Iowa football players were sent to the hospital after a voluntary offseason workout and by all accounts they have a condition known as Exertional Rhabdomyolysis (ER). I decided to reach out to the mainstream media to see what they were saying about this.

Let's roll through the Bowls, all 35 of them, in chronological order (maybe). I'm going to lay out who's playing in each one and then make a prediction on who'll win. Yet again I'll point out if I put money on my own predictions my kids would starve. I heartily recommend that you don't base anything financial on my predictions!

Winner: BYU

My fellow college football fans, I am speaking to you today, to help you understand where we are as a nation. A College Football Nation. We have seen some troubling waters, but we have forged ahead and I feel like we have new hope, and we are energized as we move into a new stage of our season.

Game of the Week
I know you all thought I’d go with the No. 1 ranked Oklahoma Sooners traveling to Columbia to play the No. 11 Missouri Tigers. Well forget it. With my Jeckyl/Hyde tendencies on picking games, there’s no way I am touching this game with a ten foot poll. I’ll just say there are some really dynamic playmakers that are going to be on that field, and I would love to be in Colombia today for all the excitement. Boomer Sooner!

I can't believe how much Steve Spurrier must hate me. I had the article half written about how Alabama was the most complete team in the country and no matter who they faced in the BCS title they'd be double digit favorites and more blah blah blah, and what do they do? They go and let the South Carolina Gamecocks walk all over them. So when I started on this poll with all the upsets in the rankings, it was tough to figure out where to stick the Crimson Tide. And it was hard to even think about where to put any teams outside the top 9, but you see how I took care of that.
- Ohio State - Tops by default. Not sure if they are the best team, but they keep winning.

So, week 3 is upon us and there are a few early conslusions I have come to.
There are only about ten really good teams in the country, and about 30 really average ones. I suspect by the end of the season, there will be about 4 really good teams.
The University of North Carolina is a grease fire, and they are only the beginning. Thanks to the that big dope Reggie Bush, and slightly smaller dope A.J. Green, these big programs are going to get treated like a hot girl trying to board an air plane. You are going to get over searched and feel pretty violated when you are done. I have spoken on this topic before, so I won't go into it, but honestly, all this venom for the NCAA because these idiots knowingly broke the rules. You want to whine about the rule? Go ahead, but don't use that as the basis to defend these guys.
Ah, but onto hap Continue Reading >>>
The darling of Week 1 of the 2010 college football season has to be University of Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson. Robinson carved up the Uconn Huskies defense for nearly 400 yards of total offense, and 2 touchdowns en route to a 30-10 opening week victory. The media is all abuzz with Robinson, calling him the new Heisman frontrunner, the new Pat White, and the savior of not only scumbag Rich Rodriguez’s job, but the Michigan football program. I say he’s none of those things…..yet.

I decided this year to take a little different approach to ranking defensive lines. On one hand you could look at stats, which is what I see a lot of pundits do. Defenses that don't allow a lot of rush yards per game get a nod. You could think about the potential NFL millionaires along the line, or you can look at the ability to rush he passer. This year, I really only had 2 lines to consider and what it ultimately came down to for me was star power.
