Let's roll through the Bowls, all 35 of them, in chronological order (maybe). I'm going to lay out who's playing in each one and then make a prediction on who'll win. Yet again I'll point out if I put money on my own predictions my kids would starve. I heartily recommend that you don't base anything financial on my predictions!

BCS Championship Game - Auburn v. Oregon
As much as we’d like to think that one of these teams is going to fall before the title game, I just don’t see it. Auburn has a tough go in the SEC title game, assuming they aren’t spent from the Iron Bowl, they are still much more talented than South Carolina and should win this game. Oregon and Oregon State sounds good on paper, but the Beavers just don’t have enough offense to hang with the Ducks.

The darling of Week 1 of the 2010 college football season has to be University of Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson. Robinson carved up the Uconn Huskies defense for nearly 400 yards of total offense, and 2 touchdowns en route to a 30-10 opening week victory. The media is all abuzz with Robinson, calling him the new Heisman frontrunner, the new Pat White, and the savior of not only scumbag Rich Rodriguez’s job, but the Michigan football program. I say he’s none of those things…..yet.

When I am scouting linebackers, I normally don’t have a lot of trouble. I have a few groups in mind, I go back and review the games and in my observations will find a few more that are on the fringe but the list typically comes together pretty quickly. This year was much tougher. While there are only a few groups I would consider truly elite, pairing the list down to 10 was much harder than in the past. Lots of really talented players in the country and a lot of young guys who if they play up to their potential have a chance to be great.
In the final analysis, there are really only 3 groups in that elite class to be considered for the top group of linebackers in the nation. These units provide a mix of known top tier talent as well as some young players on the verge of breakout seasons.

Of the hundreds of guys who go undrafted each year, some of them give up the dream of playing football and opt for further education like New Hampshire's Scott Sicko (DBI wishes you the best of luck by the way Scott). Some give up on the NFL and go play elsewhere but some of the luckier ones get picked up by NFL teams as Undrafted Free Agents. Some of these guys even end up being paid more than their colleagues drafted in rounds 5 onwards. How does that happen? Well quite simply, some of these guys are in very high demand with several teams chasing their signature. Competition, as any agent will tell you, is going to get you paid more.
Sure lots of guys signed as UDFAs are nothing but camp fodder but for some they have a chance to earn a spot in the league and for some, it's as more than a Special Teams demon and backup. Take a look at this lineup:

The marathon that is the Bowl season continues today with more great games. Word is one of the top CBs in the 2010 draft, Oklahoma State's Perrish Cox will not be playing for violation of team rules, and concensus NO.1 offensive tackle Russell Okung hurt his knee in practice this will and will at the least be limited but may not play at all. But here's the rest of the players to watch.

What an amazing Saturday of football. The NCAA never fails to impress me week after week. More drama than a soap opera, and more effort than the NFL could ever have. Some upsets I called, and some others I didn't, but here's my wrap up of what I saw today.
Alabama/LSU - The game of the week did not disappoint. A couple of things really worked in 'Bama's favor. One was the injuries to LSU's starting quarterback and running back, both of whom were gashing the Tide D, until they got hurt. The other thing that worked in their favor is, they are able to hand the football off to the best player in the country in Mark Ingram. That Florida/Alabama showdown continues to loom large for a spot in the BCS title game. Oh and another bang up job by those crappy SEC refs, especially on the LSU interception they dropped the ball on.

Every draft I am asked to list the 100 players I believe that will be drafted in the first 100 picks. This is always a difficult task, mainly because rather than simply consider who the best 100 prospects are, you have to take into consideration which teams are picking when. Good players, and I mean really good players slip out of those first 3 rounds, because they aren't positions of need or they are just plain missed by the league. I have always felt pretty good that I can usually pull about 80 of the first 100 picks and I will continue to do it and hope to improve. But this year, I am going to add a little something.
