As the 2011 NFL draft approaches, even with all the concerns over a potential work stoppage and all the things that go along with it, the draft is happening and with the added dynamics we could see some real changes in how teams approach the draft philosophically.
As I see it, at worst there are 3 quarterbacks that will be taken in the first round. I personally have 4 quarterbacks with first round grades. But in a year where there could be a hard rookie salary cap the financial risk of drafting a player who may not pan out is diminished and that could mean teams will go ahead and draft a quarterback in the first round thatin past years they would wait until the 2nd or 3rd round. So in a best case scenario, I can see 8 or 9 quarterbacks go, if not in the first 32 picks, in the first two rounds for sure.

Let's roll through the Bowls, all 35 of them, in chronological order (maybe). I'm going to lay out who's playing in each one and then make a prediction on who'll win. Yet again I'll point out if I put money on my own predictions my kids would starve. I heartily recommend that you don't base anything financial on my predictions!

Another week of the college season is in the books, and even though it happens every year, I always forget just how much better the matchups are in college as opposed to the NFL. We had so many great games this weekend that the media were touting as not being premier. Make no mistake, they were great. I am operating on about 10 hours of games, and 3 hours of sleep, so like Prince said, “I was dreamin’ when I wrote, forgive me if I go astray.”

Two weeks into the college football season, and I suppose it's time to offer up the 5 guys I think are the frontrunners for the Heisman Trophy. Probably no real suprises here, except maybe one.
1. Kellen Moore QB Boise State - My preseason pick and I am sticking with him. Showed all the skill and poise expected of him in the preseason. Only one game in the books, but I expect his stats to go through the roof.
2. Terrell Pryor QB Ohio State - Won a big game against Miami and put up huge numbers doing it. I don't consider him the most outstanding player in the country, but if they win out, he'll almost certainly be the reason and that gets him the gold.

*** Firstly a note from the Editor - My apologies for the late arrival of this article. The Pitt/Utah game is already in the books but we've had some technical issues and we hope to give you a major site announcement very soon as well. A lot's been happening in the background in the run up to Week One but I can promise you we didn't re-write this article. Now over to Curt ***
College football is finally here and thank God. It couldn't come soon enough. This has been the longest offseason. I've had to deal with so much crap. From Lebron James and Tiger Woods to World Cup Soccer and all the whining that is Major League Baseball. Normally I can just tune out all the minutia but this year it was just too much to turn off.

Last year, I lumped my quarterbacks and running backs together for my best of the bunch articles, but this year, the groups are so different I felt like it was only fair to both groups to give each their own breakdown. Obviously, when I look at the best quarterback unit in the nation, I have to give some consideration to depth, but let’s be honest. The best quarterbacks in the nation are the reason their team wins or loses and as much as we’d like to say that the backups can come in and the teams won’t miss a beat, we know it isn’t true.

When I look at the guys I think deserve a shot at the Heisman Trophy I typically put them in 3 groups. First are the obvious front runners. Guys who play in bigtime programs, and have the hard throbbing endorsement of the media and their names will rape our ears all season long.
Second is the group of guys who are poised to win it, but get almost no love preseason from the masses so they either can’t get their name out there in time (Ndamukong Suh), or don’t get enough pub at all (Ryan Mathews).
The third group is that “nukka what?” group. I call them that because every time I mention their name in the Heisman discussion, someone says “nukka what?”
My frontrunners
