2009 No Pub Team...

Every year, I do my first and second team All-American team, but there's always a stack of guys sitting out there, with tremendous talent who for whatever reason can't make the list. Either the school they play for or the system they play in, they just get no love. Well they are going to get some from me.
No Pub All-American Offense
QB - Jevan Sneed, Ole Miss This kid might be the best NFL prospect at QB in the nation, and Ole Miss might be the best team in the SEC because of him
RB - Michael Smith, Arkansas The SEC theme continues with the Senior who had some of his best rushing games in conference
RB - LeGarrette Blount, Oregon Impressive mix of size and speed but a bit of a head case
WR - Kerry Meier, Kansas Might be one of the best all around football players in the country when your backup QB catches 97 balls
WR - Golden Tate, Notre Dame After showing himself to be a serious deep threat, I expect a ton of long hook ups this season
TE - Rob Gronkowski, Arizona The most frightening mix of size and athleticism in the country at any position
C - Ben Jones, Georgia Gets missed because he's a true sophomore, but he's got NFL millions in his future
OL - Jeff Byers, USC Seems like he's been at USC for a decade, but regardless the kid can play
OL - Mike Pouncey, Florida Shares the spotlight with twin brother Maurkice, but Mike is a better player
OL - Sam Young, Notre Dame Another guy who seems to have been around forever
OL - Zane Beadles, Utah I hope their team's success has put him on NFL radars because he's a great player
PK - Phillip Welch, Wisconsin Super Sophomore with amazing range
No Pub All-American Defense
DL - George Selvie, USF Took a big step backwards in 08, but I expect a big rebound
DL - Sergio Kindle, Texas Moving from LB to Brian Orakpo's spot at end. I expect lots of havoc
DL - Jared Odrick, Penn State Super aggressive player, who just needs to refine his game
DL - Greg Romeus, Pitt Looks to be a terror as an edge rusher
LB - Rennie Curran, Georgia If he were't 5'7" he'd be a first team All-American
LB - Travis Lewis, Oklahoma Could end up the best LB in the history of the school
LB - Pat Angerer, Iowa If he played at USC we'd get sick of how much we see him
DB - Ras-I Dowling, Virginia Funny name, serious talent
DB - Josh Pinkard, USC One of only two returning staters on defense
DB - Janoris Jenkins, Florida Only a Sophomore but already looks like a first round pick
DB - Jordan Lake, Baylor Another kid who needs to play somewhere that will get his skills more attention
P - Ross Thevenot, Tulane Huge leg and a knack for pinning teams deep
